Sudan: Gum Arabic Production Expected to Increase to 200,000 Tons

The Sudan Gum Arabic Company has disclosed an increase on both production volume and exports of the crop this season due to incentives provided to producers and their support through giving them profitable prices besides provision of basic services at the belt area.


In a statement to SMC, the Director of the Company Awadallah Ibrahim said that the company has smart partnerships with the producers sector at all areas of gum Arabic belt a matter that resulted in production increase, which is expected to reach 200,000 tons this season compared to 170,000 tons last year, saying that the current season is one of the most successful seasons for the producers, as the price of a quintal of gum Arabic has reached SDG3250, which is an unprecedented price.

He disclosed that export policies have been mapped out in coordination with the concerned bodies.
